At about this time of day (around about 5pm) Banda and Kirana get very restless and keep venturing to a certain corner of their enclosure. A lot of viewers assume this is because of the birds on the wetland pond, or because of the passing zoo train. It is in fact because from this corner, they can see when the keepers are coming to let them in for the night, which of course means feeding time.
I love the lighting in this picture created by the time of day, the natural looking environment, and I think the tree finishes the image rather nicely. Sumatran tiger. Panthera tigris sumatrae Paignton Zoo. |
