This is a cross between the North American and European subspecies of wolves.

I prefer to portray animals in the way they are, and not in a 'fairytale' guise. Wolves are not 'big and bad' or mean. They are superb pack hunters (the second most effective in the world in fact) and back when man acted as hunter/gatherers wolves were revered by man as a hunter of parallel skill and tenacity. Since we have started harvesting livestock for consumption wolves have become an adversary as our livestock supplies make easy targets for wolf packs (or even individual wolves).
It is the misconceptions that man holds for many species that has caused their endangered status, which sometimes makes me hesitant to display images such as this one, but in the end I will instead try to supply information about the animals I portray.
